"Univ.-Professor (Hannover) Hans Günther Natke, Jahrgang 1933, ist ein international renommierter Wissenschaftler. Als gebürtiger Westpreuße schildert er in diesem Buch Teile seines Lebens. Als einschneidend empfindet der Autor die Flucht im Treck 1945 und die Jahre in der DDR. Die Flucht 1951 in den Westen führte zu einem Abitur als Nichtschüler. Nach dem Mathematikstudium begann für ihn eine Zeit des Aufbaus und Lernens in der Flugzeugindustrie - hochinteressant und arbeitsreich zugleich, geprägt von fachlicher Kompetenz, Übernahme von Verantwortung und Führungsaufgaben. 1976 folgte der Autor einem Ruf an die Universität Hannover.
Natkes »Autobiografische Fragmente« liefern nicht nur Eindrücke seines abwechslungsreichen Lebens, sondern sie geben auch Einblick in die Zeit des Dritten Reiches, der sowjetischen Besatzung und der Aufbauphase der Bundesrepublik Deutschland."
